One day GreenyGold Bearmouse wanted some fun,
So he invited his friends out to play in the sun.

'We can all go to Gran's, there's a big garden there,
with lots of space, it's beyond compare.'

It was fun for them all to be gathered in one place,
Not least, for some had not met face to face.

Burgandy Bearmouse, Bride and Groom,
With DustyPink Bearmouse all live in one room.

All of the others are scattered far and wide,
So the chance to meet up could not be denied.

They got on so well, like they'd never been parted.
And that's how the Bearmouse Garden Party started.

Burgandy Bearmouse was first on the green,
'A round of golf, is anyone keen?

I'm a bit out of practice, I have to admit,
But that's not going to stop me from having a hit.'

"I'm sorry", said Colourful Bearmouse, "I want to help Gran.
Her garden needs digging , and I know that I can..."

"...Just dig it over, and plant some seeds,
Then I'll be done once I've got up the weeds."

"As soon as I've finished I'll join in the fun,
I'm not good at relaxing when there's work to be done."

Then GoldPink Bearmouse declared she was bored,
'Who's for a game of hide 'n' seek?, ' she roared.

'I'll close my eyes and count to ten,
You find a safe place to hide and then...

...I'll look for you all and the last to be found,
Will be declared the winner of that round.'

Off they all went to various places,
While GoldPink Bearmouse counted in stages.

1..2..3 she started,
The others looked at each other and off they darted.

DustyPink Bearmouse spied a place she liked a lot,
But it wasn't very easy climbing into an empty plant pot.

Goldgreen Bearmouse went and stood very still,
Next to the gnomes, he used all his will.

"If I don't move and inch, stand as still as can be,
Perhaps no one will be able to spot me."

She searched high and low to find their hiding spots,
Spied one by the gnomes and two in the pots.

Another in the hedge, she found them all at a canter,
Apart from the winner who hid in the planter.
